I don't know why I was the last my alarm shot to be served in my party. I have to wonder about establishments where you're supposed to tip before you even received service. I'll always go back and give a cash tip when the service is good. But the brussel sprouts or not cooked enough really crunchy the mashed potatoes were great I had to ask for more gravy because it just didn't give me enough gravy on my turkey plate and they gave me one big hug of turkey not sliced so I needed a knife to carve it up. It just felt like I didn't get as good a service as everyone in my party or everyone else in the restaurant.
Used to love coming here before it got bought out. The prices were great and super affordable. I became a pro riding on this mountain. Great powder and trails. But it just became super expensive this year for the location. We used to pay 86$ for a whole day all mountain pass. Now it's 155$ its absolutely insane.
First time there. No sledding permitted. No parking fee for the non preferred parking. Bring a wagon and folding chairs if you plan to stay long. Restrooms were closed due to lack of toilet paper, bring a roll with you. I'm glad I did.
Way too much money to spend on a day pass for what it is worth. Dodge ridge has double the amount of runs for a comparable price. China peak needs to realize what they are and lower their price. They try to charge like a top tier resort when they are barely mediocre in terms of amount of runs and features. Anybody above 10 y.o. Can hit all their features with no problem. They should start charging what they are worth or they are going to have a problem finding business. Not to mention the mearest city is filled with ignorant and unlikable people that discriminate anybody that doesn’t look like they grew up in a mountain town. Do better china peak.
I've got mixed feelings about this resort. It has incredible potential. If the weather would cooperate, they would probably put more money into it and make it a "stand out" resort. I will say that it has friendly staff, friendly patrons, short walks from the parking lots to the lifts, and on a good year... great snow. I have a hard time with insufficient help to keep chair 5 going and to keep the mountain operations running smoothly; parking lots that don't get opened up and are too small for the number of people that want to visit; some of the runs are poorly groomed (very dangerous); on non powder days chair 5 trails need some attention too not just chair 2 trails; great skiing on the north side of the Resort but difficult access getting out (they need to replace chair 3 that has been decommissioned & run it up to Stadium); no accurate temperatures nor times posted available on line; there are only 6 chair lifts and they are rarely all operating on the best snow days. On average, 3 - 4 chairs seem to only operate. Chair 5 is problematic but accesses the best snow and runs. It gets boring without the top open, groomed, etc...; ski patrol does not mark rocks or bare spots on the trails; advanced skiers should look for a different mountain. Lastly, the prices continue to go up and the benefits continue to diminish. Take a look at the season passes and the discounts they don't include anymore for '23-'24.
Excellent location, nice staff, and they have music! Great prices and excellent food if you want to eat here. I just feel there is so much they could do here. Really great for the price. Wish more people knew about this place.
Great runs, food and staff. We are so lucky to have a local resort like this as opposed to the large crowds of the larger resorts in Cali.
I recently came here with some friends to do a group ski session and overall the conditions were very well in regards to the powder
I would say the most annoying thing about this place is how soon they close certain runs into the day and then warn you about going on closed runs.
